The Damon system is a new treatment approach that combines tieless brackets and high technology archwires proven to move teeth fast and comfortably for a positive result and patient’s satisfaction. The Damon system uses low-friction passive self-ligating brackets, hi-tech light-force archwires and minimally invasive treatment protocols.
The Damon system advantages over conventional orthodontic techniques (advocated by authors and associates) are numerous, but particularly:
lesser percentage of teeth removal
shorter duration of therapy (30% faster therapy)
fewer appointments and easier hygiene maintenance
less teeth sensitivity and reduced pain during wearing
more comfortable to carry because the braces are extremely rounded
After the application of the brackets , check-ups are every 8 to 12 weeks.
Based on a large number of completed treatments with ten years of experience in monitoring and developing the Damon technique and its applications, we have come to the conclusion that there are many positive advantages advocated by the authors of the technique itself.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
The average duration of the therapy is 2 to 3 years, depending on the complexity of each individual case, but sometimes even less.
Will the teeth move after removing the braces?
After every orthodontic treatment there is a possibility of repeated teeth movement (relapse). In order to prevent the teeth from returning to its original position, we use mobile retentive devices and fixed retention (strips or archwires that are glued from the inside of the teeth – not visible). They should be worn by the patients for a certain period of time to prevent possible movement of the teeth.
Maintaining oral hygiene
During orthodontic treatment, special attention should be paid to the proper maintenance of oral hygiene. Along with classic oral hygiene, we recommend using interdental brushes and water flosses.
