Surgical implant embedding is possible even in case of bone loss.
Implants are a popular method for replacing teeth since patients can solve their functional and aesthetic problems resulting in a completely natural feeling and function of the teeth, partially stopping further bone loss in the oral cavity.
By regenerating the bone, we stop the withdrawal of the gums and further decay of the jawbone and, consequently, the collapse of the adjacent teeth.
Tooth loss often leads to bone loss. If the bone below the soft jaw tissue is not high or wide enough it is necessary to do regeneration or bone augmentation so the implant can be embedded successfully.
By using specialized materials and methods, the bone grafting can be performed with the bone obtained from a tissue bank or your own bone.
Depending on the type of material and method used for bone augmentation, the regeneration period lasts from 4 to 6 months after which the implant therapy can be initiated.
At our center we carry out bone regeneration with:
Blood Plasma (PRF)
PRF bone augmentation protocol with the help of your own blood plasma
In case of lack of bone for implant embedding, the PRF method can be used for a completely natural and safe bone augmentation needed for the implant placement.
The process begins by taking the patient’s blood, which is then prepared through coagulation. By dividing the blood components, we obtain a membrane for a faster, simpler and safer implant embedding in cases of bone loss.
This method is completely harmless and safe and no artificial materials are used except the patient’s blood. For patients, this is a guarantee for a successful implant embedding.
Artificial bone
These are artificially produced materials of synthetic or animal origin. Most often they come in granular form and are sufficient for bone enhancement or for correction of small and medium bone defects due to periodontitis, tooth extraction or for some other reason.
Sometimes it is necessary to combine them with an autologous bone to achieve better osteogenic potential, which leads to a faster formation of the new bone.
Surgical procedures using artificial bone is somewhat faster and less demanding for both the surgeon and the patient. As when using autologous bone, there is no pain after surgery, and the postoperative recovery is much easier for the patient.
Bone grafts have a high success rate. Generally, the organism always accepts the bone blend and the regeneration process begins.
Autologous bone
Bone augmentation procedure performed with pieces of your own bone taken from the chin or the back of the lower jaw.
The autologous bone can be used in a single piece as a bone block or in bone scrapes.
An autologous bone transplant is still a gold standard in oral surgery because it has the strongest osteogenic potential. Using the the own bone of the patient has a big role.
This bone augmentation process has virtually no post-operative pain or swelling. Patients do not feel any discomfort after the process and have only positive experiences.
