Endodontics is the branch of dentistry concerning dental pulp and tissues surrounding the roots of a tooth. An endodontic treatment involves the treatment of the dental roots, pulp capping or in some cases root canal extractions. It is primarily about treating the dental pulp that is located in the tooth canal itself.
The pulp houses the root canal, nerves and blood vessels. Due to deep cavity penetration into the dental tissue and ultimely non-regular visits to the dentist, infection of the pulp occures.
Root canal therapy is the most common procedure in endodontics. The procedure involves removing the damaged area of the tooth, cleaning and disinfecting the entire root canal. After disinfectiong the root canal the tooth gets filled and sealed preventing further bacteria penetration into the root.
An endodontic treatment of tooth includes:
tooth nerve removal
thorough cleaning of the root canal
filling the root canal with permanent fillings to prevent future penetration of bacteria in the interior of the roots
In endodontic treatments, we use special materials, electronic devices and detectors which helps us establish the correct position and number of root canals, and mechanical rooth canal cleaning and processing.
The pain that occurs immediately after filling the root canal is normal and short.
Thanks to state-of-the-art equipment and the use of high-quality procedures adapted to each tooth, Orto-Nova’s dental medicine center achieves maximum succesfulness in the performance of root canals.
